Hi I'm Tyler

I hiked the Appalachian Trail 2,175 miles to raise $20,000 for orphans in Iraq. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

OK, the bb-gun in my hand is just a joke, but I enjoy standing through the moonroof of my car and shooting helium balloons along the sides of old country roads. I'm actually, a city boy who grew up 20 miles outside of Manhattan. I'm an Eagle Scout. I was the student body president of my high school. I am finishing my bachelors degree in Physiology and will apply to medical schools this summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the influence of the Holy Spirit and my love for Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because of the light and direction I feel when I seek the Lord's guidance in scripture study in prayer. I'm a Mormon because giving meaningful service to others helps me better understand God's love for me.

How I live my faith

One way that I live my faith is by organizing charity events in my community. Because I live near a few llama farms, each year I organize an annual food-drive called "Carollama". This entails volunteers Christmas caroling with real llamas for canned food. All collections are donated to the food bank and each year we raise thousands of pounds of canned food.
