Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a Texan, a dental hygienist, a mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in Texas. Later I moved to the big city to attend Dental Hygiene school and that is where I met and fell in love with my husband. Years later we are even more in love and now have 3 handsome little boys who boss me around all day, but I don't mind :) I enjoy being a mom, hanging out with friends, going to the gym, organizing my house (or at least trying) and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith and often times I wonder where I would be without it. In the town I grew up in I quickly realized the consequences of where bad choices could lead you and knew that was not the life I wanted. I was very grateful for my parents who taught me about Christ and his church today. We believe that Christ organized a church when He was on the earth. After he died and over time, the original Christian church was eventually changed by men and lost. In 1820, God and Jesus Christ appeared to a young boy named Joseph Smith, in answer to his sincere prayer, and called him to be a prophet through which they reestablished the original Christian church. This is a bold claim and there came a time when I needed to find out for myself if this was true. I still remember the feeling I received and the knowledge that God is real and does answer prayers today. I know that the church Christ organized in his time has been brought back and that is why I’m a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith to me is more than just going to church on Sunday. It's something I think about everyday as I strive to be more like Christ by praying and reading his scriptures. I also try my best to find opportunities to serve those around me. Currently at church I work with helping teach others about Christ and his church today. In the community I enjoy hosting or attending playgroups, bringing new moms meals, planning neighborhood parties, or anything I can do to help. I can't begin to express my gratitude to those who have served me and so service is something that I hope I can always do. Family is very important to me as well and so I spend most of my time in my role as a wife and a mother. Even though time is limited I love the time I get to spend with just my husband, whether it’s just talking on the couch or catching a show. Most of the time, I get to enjoy my 3 active boys and being able to learn and grow from them. They enjoy cooking with me, reading books, but most of all jumping off the counter onto the couch. Hopefully, I can break them of that habit soon!!!
