Hi I'm Desta

I aspire to be a nurse. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to college and studying nursing. I love nursing, especially my clinical days when I get to be with real patients in the hospital. It is a lot of work, but I know it will be well worth it. I am very lucky to learn the healer's art, and hope that I will exemplify compassion as a nurse. I played tennis in high school, but love to play or watch any and all sports. In the summers, I enjoy hiking and backpacking. Last summer I backpacked for a week with my family and we hiked over 50 miles! I am recently married to the man of my dreams. Every day is another day to grow closer to the Lord and to my husband. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS faith. My mother joined the church when she was 19. She is an amazing woman, and her faithful example has greatly contributed to my love of this gospel. Throughout my life I have seen how the principles of the gospel make for strong families and good people with high standards. Most importantly, though, the gospel has brought me closer to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know he loves me personally, he suffered for me, and he is the perfect example.

How I live my faith

Every day I pray for the courage to take the name of Jesus Christ upon me. I read the scriptures daily that I may come to know Him. Prayer is also integral to the way I live my faith. I try to always have a prayer in my heart, and to voice my prayers often throughout the day. I am ever thankful for the blessings in my life: being able to attend school and having a loving family and supportive husband. My husband and I attend church meetings weekly on Sunday. We also visit the temple regularly. After each visit, I leave this sacred house of the Lord feeling inspired and loved.
