Hi I'm Celeste!

I grew up in a small town in western Washington. I'm a coupon-clipping mother of four wonderful, crazy kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a "people person." I can strike up conversation with whomever I'm near, and with good friends it's hard to ever stop talking, as my kids will attest! I'm a busy mother of four whose life revolves around my family. I enjoy singing, music, dancing, reading and most any social gathering. My mother was always doing things for others whether it be for our family or anyone in need, and from her example I learned to value giving service to others. Now I am trying to pass that on to my children, along with the belief that when we serve others, we are serving God. I believe true happiness comes from loving and lifting each other, and that we are all children of God. I also believe we can all learn from each other, and that learning, both in formal educational settings and from casual encounters with people different from ourselves adds value and joy to our life. In my view, life is not something that will end definitively with death, and since I expect life and love to continue into the eternities, nothing I learn and share each day of my life will be wasted.

Why I am a Mormon

Because my parents are both lifetime members of the Church, I enjoyed learning the gospel as a child in my formative years. Still, my understanding of Jesus Christ and His infinite mercy was not complete as a child, and continues to grow with new experience and constant evidence of His love and watchfulness in my life everyday. I know I have a Heavenly Father who hears and answers my prayers. I know that He speaks to me throught the words of the scriptures, the words of modern prophets and inspired leaders, and through peace and quiet thoughts and promptings in my heart. I know He loves all of His children and will give us every opportunity to come unto Him, leaving the choice of what we truly want up to us.

How I live my faith

I've been taught that God is love, and the more I learn of Him, the more I believe that is true. In my family I try to show love and patience, and often pray for an increase in these qualities. I try to find ways to lift the burdens of others around me, as I know my Savior would. I find great joy in teaching the simple truths of the gospel to the young children of the nursery, where I've accepted a calling to serve. Pondering the words of the scriptures everyday brings me peace and purpose in a busy world with so much that can bring me down.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Celeste!
Yes! I am very sure that the Lord calls living prophets, and that President Thomas S. Monson is the mouthpiece of Jesus Christ to His Church and the world today. When I hear the Prophet speak in our General Conferences, I feel the Spirit confirming his words. And I know from following the counsel of prophets that I have been blessed, and that I have increasing peace and happiness in my life. To me it is such a blessing to have words from heaven specific to today to guide me in the turbulent world in which I am living and raising children. Show more Show less
