Hi I'm Sharilyn

I am a consecrated disciple of Christ! I'm a mother, I have been blessed with 5 wonderful children. I am a registered nurse.

About Me

I am a single mother with 5 wonderful children. I have been so blessed and I have much to be greatful for. I was married in highschool when I was 17 years old and I had my first child shortly after. My husband and I were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and we were married for over 20 years. I was a stay at home mother for several years......... and I am thankful for the oportunity I had to raise my children without having to work outside the home. However......we live in the last days..........Satan is attacking the family and good families are affected everyday. My family has been injured and attacked with Satan's plan to ruin great familes. I am now divorced........... a working, single mother trying my best to raise my family in righteousness.......I have had many trials but I can testify that the Lord does not desert us in our trials and afflictions......He has provided a way for me to obtain an education. I have been in college for the last 5 years I recieved a scholarship to help pay for the expense of school. I obtained my Bachelor of Nursing while raising 5 children and going through a divorce. It wasn't easy.....but it was worth it. I now have a great job in a hospital and I can provide for my family. I have a valiant testimony of the Savior and the Atonement. I am thankful for the knowledge I have of my Savior, and for my membership in His church.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was lucky enough to be born in a family that had knowledge of the Savior and his church. My ancestors were members and sacrificed much. Although I was baptized at 8 and born and raised in the gospel...... I was not "converted" until my 20's.......There came a time when I needed to know the truth for myself........ I would say what started me on my road to conversion was the book "The Miracle of Forgiveness".......after reading this book I wanted to know more about the Savior and what he had done for me.....I had 2 small children at this time in my life, and I didn't want them to be taught incorrect principles.....So I had to learn for my self if the principles and precepts of the gospel were true......... I came to know that if you do not understand math....you cannot teach math.....and if you do not know how to read....you cannot teach someone to read. The same is true of the gospel......If you do not know the doctrine of the church you cannot teach it......I wanted to know and understand the doctrine so I could teach my children truth. In sacrament meeting I once heard from the pulpit........"you know how the story goes" (speaking of Nephi Laman and Lemuel)..........but I didn't know how the story went......I didn't know and understand the scriptures.......I had never read them for myself......I started to search the scriptures, I pondered and prayed about the scriptures and I came to know for my self that they are true. The stories in the Book of Mormon are true....I learned of my Savior and his gospel. I love the scriptures, I love my Savior and his gospel. The gospel blesses me and my family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by LOVING everyone! I love people! I love to help and serve others! I try to follow the example of my Savior. He set the perfect example for us to follow. I love serving in the church....I have served in several different callings I have been a nursery leader, I have been in the Primary presidency, a young womens advisor, a library worker, I'm a visiting teacher, I currently serve as the Music Chairman for the ward. I love music and I love having members share their musical talent by sharing musical numbers in sacrament meeting. Music is a powerful tool that can help others feel the spirit, music can invite the spirit into our meetings and into our hearts.
