Hi I'm Terrilee

I'm a wife, a home-schooling mother of four, a BYU graduate, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the middle child and only daughter of 7 children. I always wanted to be a mother and a teacher. In college I studied Elementary & Early Childhood Education. While I was still in school I met and married my wonderful husband, who is and always will be the love of my life. We have now been married for almost 10 years and have three beautiful daughters and one handsome son. Being a mother is much harder than I ever expected it to be but it also has brought me the greatest joy. I homeschool my kids which allows me to live both of my dreams in one: mother and teacher. Homeschooling has become my hobby and I look forward to each day, teaching and learning WITH my children. I also love to spend time with my husband. In my free time I enjoy practicing the piano, and improving my cooking skills. In the recent past my husband and I were foster parents to children in need. Although we are currently taking a break from this service, there is a special place in my heart for foster children and I hope to continue efforts at some future time. As a family our goal is to put Jesus Christ first. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a huge part of our lives. It has blessed us in countless ways and helped us become the people we are striving to become. We love to share this gospel or "good news" with those around us so that they can enjoy the same blessings that we enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that already had a very strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and a long history of faithful pioneers. I never doubted that the church was true but during my pre-teen years I realized that I needed to do more than just believe what my parents and leaders taught me. So I discovered for myself the truthfulness of the gospel, gained my own personal testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and have dedicated my life to serving Him and His children. I can testify that this church is the only true church on the earth today and that anyone who fully abides by its precepts will have a more fulfilling, more enriching, and more happy life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be an example of Christ-like attributes. I try to have religion be apart of my everyday experiences. Prayer and scripture study and weekly family nights are a normal part of my life. My husband and I strive to teach our children the gospel to the best of our abilities so that they too can build their own testimonies of the Savior Jesus Christ, as well as serve their fellowmen. We also strive to share the light of the gospel with others. As we go about our daily routines we focus on setting an example and living a life that Jesus Christ would want us to live. Of course I am far from perfect but through the Lord's help and strength I am getting better each day in becoming the person He wants me to be.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Terrilee
No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. We love and respect him for restoring the fullness of the gospel to the earth once again. We acknowledge the sacrifices he made while on earth as well as the sacrifice of giving his own life to this wonderful cause. But we do not worship him. We do, however, worship God, the Father, and his son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Terrilee
Yes we are! Some people not fully familiar with our church think that we are not Christians. But we ARE Christians. We center our faith on Jesus Christ. He is the head of our church. We strive every day to become more like Him. He is our Savior and Redeemer. He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings; the Prince of Peace. As a church and people we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, and we prophesy of Christ. With every fiber of my being I know that He is real. He lived on earth and now lives in heaven. I will testify of Him until my last breath and beyond. As I study His life and teachings in the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon I know exactly who I need to pattern my life after and I strive to do that daily. Of course I am very imperfect and make mistakes everyday but through Jesus Christ I am able to start over and try again. And like other Christians from across the world, I hold Jesus Christ as the ultimate example. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints truly is Jesus Christ's church restored to the earth again in these latter days. No matter what others may think or what they may try to say, YES we ARE Christians!! Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Terrilee
Absolutely. We definitely believe that the Bible is Holy Scripture and the word of God. It is a witness of Jesus Christ and his life. It teaches us how to be Christians. It shares stories and testimonies that we can relate to our own lives. Along with the Bible, we also believe the Book of Mormon to be Holy Scripture. It too is a second witness of Jesus Christ. It too teaches us to be Christians. It too shares stories and testimonies that we can relate to our own lives today. The Bible is an ancient record of people in Jerusalem and that part of the world. The Book of Mormon is an ancient record of people in the Americas. Our teachings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints come both from the Bible and the Book of Mormon as they both testify of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
