Hi I'm Jordan Michael Maxwell

I coach and play basketball. I love my wife and two kids. I'm going to medical school. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love basketball. I've played ever since I can remember. I played four years of varsity basketball and decided to be a practice player for the BYU women's basketball team in college. I started a youth basketball program and coach four of those teams. I love my family! I have been married since 2012. I love my wife and cannot get enough of my two children. My life revolves around them and am so grateful for having them in my life. I was recently accepted into medical school. I am so excited to further my love for the human body and share my knowledge with others as a practicing physician. The journey to medical school has definitely been a rough one. It took me three years to be accepted and I am so grateful for this opportunity. Sometimes the timing of things are not always as we would imagine but I know the Lord has had his hand in my life and has prepared me to go to this school at this time.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church but during my teen years I knew I needed to find out for myself if the church was true or not. I prayed to our Father in Heaven to know if the church was true or not. My answer came with a warmth and calmness in my heart. The words came to me, "you already know it is." I have felt many times in my heart that the church is true. My prayers have been answered time and time again. I have had experiences that have lead me to know, without a doubt that a prophet lives today. I know the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God. They testify of the Savior and help us draw closer to him and our Father in Heaven. I remember saying to myself I believe the church is true. Today I can say I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church here upon the earth.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I attend my church meetings with my family and neighbors. I love serving and being a part of the ward. I currently serve as a genealogy consultant. I teach a weekly class about family history and help others identify their ancestors. Once a month I also have the opportunity to teach a group of men at church about the gospel and how we can draw closer to Christ. I think the most important way for me to live my faith is in my day to day interactions with those around me. I am far from perfect but I strive to treat others as Christ would.
