Hi I'm Alyssa

I grew up in Utah, I've been a student for a while, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student, I go to school in Texas and I'm studying Marriage and Family Therapy. I like to run distance races, spend time with my friends and visit my family at home whenever I get a break from school. I love to take pictures, read good books, and take road trips.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My faith has always been a part of my life and has organized and inspired many of my life's activities, and goals I have for myself. Over time though, it has been necessary for me to gain my own testimony of the gospel, and actively choose the lifestyle that was presented in my family. I have read the Book of Mormon, studied it's teachings, and testify that it is true. Without fail, whenever I make an effort to obey the words revealed to living prophets, and the counsel of the scriptures, including the Bible, I am blessed and elevated. I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. Every challenge I face is an opportunity to learn to rely on Him, and His infinite Atonement. Every time I choose to follow His example, my problems are smaller, my heart is full, and my blessings are easy to see. I choose to live the gospel because of its fruits, because of the peace and happiness it brings to me. Most of all, I choose to be a member of the Mormon church because I know it to be true through the power of the Holy Ghost. I know we're led by a living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, and that we will be safe and happy as we follow his counsel, and live our faith. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I serve in the nursery. I love my calling. I have the opportunity to work with the children in our congregation. I teach and provide activities and structure for children who are ages 18 months to 3 years. I am also a visiting teacher. I have the opportunity to visit with a few women in my ward. I have a companion who does this with me. We seek to contact, visit, serve, look after and share and discuss the gospel with women in our congregation. It's a great blessing to build unity among us and friendships, discuss the gospel and learn together, and create a network so that everyone has someone they can count on.
