Hi I'm Brett

I'm a band director, a runner, a father, a husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music has been my life since I was very 7 years old. Although I've taken on a number of hobbies since then, I still love to perform, teach and most of all spend time with my wife and family. I play golf with my dad, fold laundry while watching a movie and enjoy cooking in the kitchen with my wife. I didn't begin running until I was 33 and ran my first half marathon one year later. I've run three more halfs since then and have a goal to eventually run a full marathon.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Jesus Christ is our Savior and am so very grateful that because of His sacrifice for me, I can one day return to live with my Father in Heaven. I have read the Book of Mormon many times in my life and know that it, as well as the Bible, is the word of God, written by prophets of old for our day. I know that we have a living prophet today who guides Christ church. I love the gospel and am so grateful for the peace and strength that is provided when we live it. Following the commandments given through the scriptures and living prophets has helped me make smarter decisions in my life than I would otherwise have made left on my own.

How I live my faith

I spend a lot of time with youth in my life. I am a middle school band director and do my best to teach strong values like dedication, hard work, loyalty and trustworthiness to my students while teaching them to perform on their instruments. At church, I work one on one with youth in the area, helping them to develop a conviction of the Savior and do the things in their life that will draw them closer to Him.
