Hi I'm Andres

I'm a proud husband and father.I'm a college student pursuing degrees in math education and educational leadership. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my wife and I enjoy all the time we spend together. We are proud parents of a beautiful boy! He is a lot of fun and is the greatest joy that we have in our lives. I enjoy time with my extended family also. I love to golf. I'm a full-time college student. I want to be a high school math teacher and then move my way up to be a high school Principal.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? this is something that i've often thought about. i was born and raised in the church and i had good parents teach me how to make good decisions and they taught me the mormon faith. i always grew up believing that this religion was true and it always felt right to me. when i was about 16 yrs. old i started realizing that there was a good path and a bad one. i saw my friends go one way and i didn't like it and it didn't feel good. i was learning to be independent and as i did so something in my heart and mind kept nudging me to keep doing what i was doing. i later realized that those "nudges" came from the holy ghost. He told me that what i was doing was right and those feelings felt very peaceful. it was like if the world paused and i stood back and i could see everything around me. i was given more wisdom and a better perspective on what life was really about. its about following Jesus Christ. through out those years i learned who He was and i grew to love Him more and more. one righteous decision after another will lead you towards Him, then you will find peace in your heart. after a struggling period in my later teen years, i served a full-time mission. i was able to teach the doctrines of Jesus Christ to others. it was hard but i learned to depend on the Savior with all my heart and i began to change even more. He showed me happiness that i didn't realize was possible. one decision after another, i came to grow stronger and stronger in my faith that the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is the true church of God on the earth and by following its teachings i've been able to be closer to the Savior than i could imagine. I gave the teachings of the church a shot and they worked. this is God's church on the earth today and He continues to prove me that every day by taking care of my family and me.

How I live my faith

i like to live one day at a time. if i don't then i'll go crazy. i've learned to keep things simple and keep my priorities straight. so this is what i do to live my faith. first i read my scriptures the bible, the book of mormon, etc. everyday. i say my prayers in the morning, during the day, and at night. i go to church and attend all of the meetings. i live the commandments that God has given us, and that modern day prophets have given us also. I take care of my wife and treat her the best i can. and i try to serve others as much as i can. thats it! its pretty simple, but of course it can be challenging. but this has brought me great peace of mind and heart because i know that this is what God wants me to do. Just give Him your best and He will bless you with happiness too.

What is being a Mormon like?

Andres
I was born and raised in the Mormon church and I always felt that there was a lot of good that came from being a member of this church. I've never felt or experienced anything that was bad or that has led me to unhappiness. The more that I got older and the more that I began to learn about Jesus Christ, I realized that being a mormon has only led me to live a Christ-like life. It's all about Him. And nothing but happiness, relief, and good comes from following Him. Being a mormon is all about going about doing what Jesus Christ would do. We focus on our families because we know that the family unit is the most important thing in this life. As I've learned about Christ's teaching and have applied them to my personal and family life, I've experienced the greatest of joys that I've ever had in my life. Being a mormon brings happiness because we strive to follow Christ. Show more Show less
