Hi I'm Jared

I'm a lawyer, father of 6, and am happily married to my best friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy father of five young boys and one daughter. I like sports and reading. I spend most of my free time with my beautiful wife and kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church. Over time I developed a testimony that what I had been taught all of my life was really true. One of the building blocks of my beliefs is that the Book of Mormon was written by prophets that testified and taught about Jesus Christ. I have prayed many times to my Heavenly Father, asking for confirmation that the Book of Mormon is a true book of scripture. Each time I feel a wonderful feeling in my heart telling me that it is.

How I live my faith

We serve one another in the church and the community frequently. While I keep pretty busy at work and at home I try and help as much as I can when fellow church members need help moving or need help with something else. This past year I had the privilege of helping others lay sod at their house, move, and set up chairs before a funeral. Sometimes the call for help doesn't come at a convenient time, but its always worth it to find time to help.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

I served as a missionary for two years in the beautiful country of Spain. I proselyted as a missionary because I believe in Jesus Christ and I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church, which has been restored in our day. I think that that is great news that I want every one to know. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are Christians. We believe in God the Father, in His son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. We believe that our Heavenly Father sent His son Jesus Christ to the earth to atone for our sins so that we, through repentance, might be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ after this life. While people have given us the name of Mormon as a nickname, the actual name of the Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because it is His church. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Ancient prophets living on the American continent wrote the books making up the Book of Mormon. One of those prophets summarized abridged the words of many other prophets and called it the Book of Mormon. He gave it to his son Moroni, who added some inspired words of his own, and then buried it, where it remained hidden for centuries. The Book was then delivered to the Prophet Joseph Smith in the early 1800s, who later translated it by the power of God into the english language. Show more Show less
