Hi I'm Ron Bird

I'm a Californian, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a husband, dad and granddad. I teach as a substitute and work at a bicycle shop. As a scoutmaster I enjoy being with the youth and being active in the outdoors, bicycling, sailing, hiking and whatever adventure they decide; and I pass on my experience scouting as a youth and adventures in life. My greatest passion is motorcycling in the dirt. I was a motorcross and desert racer in my teen years until I broke my leg racing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church but ever since I could remember meetings were painfully boring and I rebelled until the things of the world became painful. I was 17 when I broke my leg and thought about trying religion. I tried the one I grew up in. I read, studied and prayed about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon with people that cared and knew and the rest is history. Now meetings are a time and place I am spiritually fed and renewed. I know Heavenly Father loves me, Jesus Christ is my savior. They appeared to Joseph Smith in answer to his humble pray to know which church to join. Thomas S. Monson is the President of the Church today and the prophet God has called. The Book of Mormon along with the Bible is the written word of God. The heavens are open and God is revealing Himself to the world.

How I live my faith

Today being a teacher is part of my religion what I do professionally, even working at a bicycle shop gives me the opportunity to serve my employer, my associates and the bicycling public. I serve the young men of our church and community as a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America.
