Hi I'm Bryan

I am a professional author and illustrator. I like audiobooks, yoga, and sleep. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a proud member of the LDS faith! By profession I am a mixed-media graphic novelist. I have been published as an illustrator in over 100 countries and have had my work printed hundreds of thousands of times. I am now fulfilling my dream of writing the stories that I illustrate, and my first graphic novel will be published in Fall 2012. In my personal time I like to read classic literature, philosophy, and classical theology. I enjoy ISHTA Yoga.

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon makes me happy. Knowing who I am, where I came from, and where I am going is the best thing I've got going in my life. I have a testimony that Jesus is the Christ, that the Truth was restored through Joseph Smith, and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I feel the guidance of our Heavenly Father daily through the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I've found that my greatest joys in life have come through obedience to the principles of the restored gospel. I hope that I will always have the faith to follow the example of my Savior no matter how great the challenge.

How I live my faith

I can't think of a greater challenge than to give every aspect of my life back to God. In my career I do my best to be perfect at what I do because God is perfect, and to strive for perfection is to honor Him. In my free time I try to engage in activities that bring more of the spirit into my life, such as: ISHTA Yoga; reading books from honest, Christian, spiritual seekers--including Saint Augustine of Hippo, George MacDonald, G.K. Chesterton, John Milton, Saint Thomas Aquinas, C.S. Lewis, Madeleine L'Engle, and Sir Thomas More; reading uplifting classical literature; and studying the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Many opportunities to serve others come through the Church, such as planned service activities. We do food drives, visit the sick and elderly, and collect clothing for homeless shelters. Spending time with the members of your church community is a great way to learn how to see the Light of Christ in every individual, because no matter how different he or she may seem, we all have come to the same place to honor the Savior by learning to love our neighbor as He did.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mormon Temples are the place where we enter into sacred covenants in order to prepare to live with our Heavenly Father. They are the place where we can receive personal revelation from and develop a personal relationship with Him. Every time I go to the Temple I feel surrounded by the peaceful presence of the Holy Ghost. When I am serving I often feel as if my eyes are seeing more light than is humanly possible. I have a testimony that the work we do there is preparing our Heavenly Father's children for eternal life. Show more Show less
