Hi I'm Erica

I'm spunky. I've moved 24 times. I like spicy food. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the wife of a student. I work at a Department of Energy National Science Laboratory. I like hiking and swimming, watching movies with my husband, eating sushi, and diet coke. I'm spontaneous, fun-loving, and too spunky for my own good. I love trying new things, whether it's food or an activity; I'll try everything once.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because it is the only thing that has never let me down, and has always, every time, brought me happiness. Life isn't always perfect or anywhere even close to it, but my belief in God and his son Jesus Christ complete me as a person. As a teenager I struggled with being a Mormon because I felt that being a Mormon woman meant that I had to be boring, and like babies and scrapbooking and be nothing more than an addendum to my husband. But I finally came to terms that the church was about two things: A personal belief in Christ and God helping us on the path to happiness. I can proudly say that I'm a Mormon, not boring, and that I still hate scrapbooking. I'm also excited to be a mother some day and raise happy, healthy, not-boring children in the gospel of Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by saying yes to every service opportunity I can: letting students borrow my car, bringing meals to those in need, showing up to help people move, or just spending time with someone who needs another person to talk to. I share the Book of Mormon with everyone I meet. Even if the person doesn't want to know about God and his son Jesus Christ, the stories are still amazing to read. I love hanging out with the good women in my church, and going to the Lord's temple regularly.
