Hi I'm Laura.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the US. I want to write fiction for children and young adults. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a court reporter with an overabundance of hobbies. When I'm not "on the record," I like to fill my time with writing, photography, researching family history, cooking, and making music.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for many reasons. I'm a Mormon because my parents were Mormon and raised me in the Mormon church. I'm a Mormon because when I was a teenager I received an answer to prayer that I couldn't deny. Reading the Book of Mormon and other scriptures regularly brings me peace and the strength to make it through the struggles of everyday life.

How I live my faith

I teach music to the young children in my ward. We have a lot of fun learning songs together that teach about eternal principles. Ideally, these principles and songs will stay with them their whole lives.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The Mormon Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Hence, it was founded by Jesus Christ. During the "Dark Ages," the full truth of the gospel of Christ was corrupted or lost, and Christ's church in its true form could not be found upon the earth. In 1830, the Church of Jesus Christ was restored upon the earth by Joseph Smith under the direction of the Savior. Show more Show less
