Hi I'm Jared

I love the outdoors. Mountains, rivers, oceans, waterfalls, and sunsets. God has given us a beautiful world!

About Me

I am a fortunate husband and father of four boys and two girls. We love to spend time together. Soccer, hiking, swimming, boogie boarding, baseball, frisbee, make our Saturdays and evening disappear quickly . . . and did I say soccer? Holly and I also enjoy watching our children perform in ballet, piano concerts, orchestra, and band concerts. I have been a nurse for 16 years and have specialized in emergency nursing. I am surprised at how jumping into a busy ER can help me forget about my own problems. I served a two year mission sharing the Gospel in Georgia over twenty years ago and loved it even though it was challenging. Holly and I hope to serve a mission together during retirement . . . why does retirement have to be so far away? Holly is a terrific wife. We enjoy being together. We have dinner and pray together each night. We go out on a date each weekend, have Sunday night planning meetings, and try to respect each other. I have had to grow a lot since we were married and I have to apologize a lot; fortunately, Holly is very forgiving. We have had a very good life and following the gospel has helped Holly and I safely navigate through lots of life's challenges. Our commitment to a virtuous marriage, a loving home, and living a drug free and alcohol free life has enabled us to avoid a lot of troubles and sadness. I thank the Lord every day for giving me a wonderful wife, healthy children, and a wonderful life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family. I choose to be a Mormon every day. It is a great way of life. To love and to serve. A plan on how to be truly happy. The best parts of my life are my wife and family. The church has taught me how to love them.

How I live my faith

I am trying to be a good person. A good person is honest and kind in relationships with others. There are many daily small instances in which I have to decide the kind of person that I will be. I do not always do what I should. Looking back, I can remember a lot of mistakes that I have made. I have had many episodes of remorse large and small. A realization of the consequences of my actions is always the beginning of making up for problems that I have caused. I feel much better once I have obtained forgiveness from those I have offended and from God. I love the peace that comes from obtaining forgiveness.
