Hi I'm Yvonne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

one of the things that I love to do is making jewelry, spending time with family and friends, dance, listening to good music. I don't have any children myself, but I do love kids. I have been a sunday school teacher, a primary teacher and a nursery teacher and I loved every minute. I was baptized in March of 1990 and server a full time mission one year later. What a wonderful experience that was for me. I am a single woman who would like to find the right man to marry.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a nice lady in a doctors office who started reading a book. My mom is a very friendly woman who will talk to anyone she meets. She and this lady started reading this book together. The book is the Book of Mormon. Soon my mom started talking to the missionaries and she was baptized. It took me a year before I would even want to hear what the missionaries had to say. Finally I was tired of the life that I had, I knew something was missing so I decided to give the missionaries a call. Before I knew it, I was feeling this wonderful sensation that I had never felt before. The missionaries told me that it was the spirit of God. From that point there was no way that I could deny what I felt, my next step was to act upon what I was feeling. That next step was to be baptized. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

As a part of the women's organization in the church, I do help to organize church activities, I have worked with the youth and small children. I sing in the choir. I like to visit those women who may not get out of their homes very much. Sometimes I help with doing service for the community such as helping to clean parks, donate and distribute food and other necessities.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No we do not. We recognize Joseph Smith as a Prophet of God. We worship God and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

This is one thing that attracted me to the church. We believe in having a lay ministry. No one gets paid. We all have regular jobs just like everyone else. We do not depend on the members of the congregation to pay our salaries. That's how it was in the days of Christ's ministry. Show more Show less
