Hi I'm Mike

& I want to cure diseases.

About Me

I am a husband, a father, a science grad student, and a believer.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager, I became interested in science, health, and medicine. Joseph Smith, as a prophet in the 1830's, received revelation about health--including avoidance of tobacco. Almost 100 years later, doctors and scientists started noticing that tobacco is indeed harmful. From this starting point and upon further study and prayer, it became clear that Mormon prophets are truly messengers from God, here to help us live better. Their words, combined with those of prophets of old and Jesus Christ, give me understanding of how to live life to the fullest.

How I live my faith

I pray and think about the teachings of Jesus Christ and his prophets and apostles daily. On Sunday, I attend and participate at church meetings. It keeps me motivated to help my fellow mankind. It makes it easier to take a minute or two out of my busy schedule to help others when the unexpected service opportunity comes up. That is the basis of living a Christian life.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a guide to health. It includes eating good foods as well as avoidance of addictive substances like tobacco, and "strong drinks," including coffee and alcohol. It includes a great promise for those who follow it-improved health and spirituality. By living the word of wisdom, I am totally free from physical addictions, my mind is clear, and I am able to live better.   Show more Show less
