Hi I'm Ty Reed

I'm a Father. I'm a motorcyclist. I'm an engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Married for 11 years. Three awesome kids age 9, 6, and 3. I work as a maintenance engineer at a chemical plant. When I'm not working, or being a husband and father, you can find me riding a motorcycle (sportbikes or dirtbikes).

Why I am a Mormon

Initially, I was a Mormon because my parents are Mormon. But ultimately, the choice became my own. I stopped believing in it because my parents believed it and started questioning things for myself. I came to know personally that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that Joseph Smith was called as a prophet, and that the teachings of the Latter Day Saint faith are true. My testimony grew out of personal scripture study, personal prayer and just living the Gospel day-to-day. There was no "big moment" where it all came together and I suddenly understood everything. But bit by bit, I came to realize that what my parents had taught me as a youth was true and that living those truths will bring me great happiness and joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving as a bishop for our local congregation. It requires more dedication and time than I thought possible but it has also been a period of great personal growth for me as well. I feel I have drawn closer to my Heavenly Father through serving in this capacity.
