Hi I'm Cherie

I'm a Mormon. I love my life. I am married to my best friend and mother to our beautiful daughter.

About Me

I grew up in a large family. I am the youngest of six children, 1 boy, 5 girls. My sisters are my best friends. I loved growing up in Missouri, close to family. My parents and us kids were the only Mormons in our family, but we are all very close. I was one of the few LDS students in my high school, but I never felt like it was a barrier in making friends. I am still very close to some of my friends from other faiths, we have a lot in common and enjoy talking and spending time together. After high school I went to Utah to attend college. My college years were a lot of fun. I majored in English Literature and graduated with a bachelors degree in 2009. I met my husband while I was at school and we were married in 2008. We had our first child, a girl, in early 2011. This past year we moved to Kentucky for my husband to attend medical school. I have always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and I am greatly enjoying doing that now. I love to read, cook, craft, and visit with friends and family. I am starting to get into exercising and am also trying to improve our eating habits. I enjoy learning about health, nutrition, and all other kinds of useful information.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, and I knew early on that I wanted to continue living the gospel when I was grown and on my own. When I was a teenager, I knew I needed to know for sure, 100%, that the church was true. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed earnestly to know if it was true or not. I was hoping for a loud voice to proclaim that it was the truth. Instead what I got was a soft, comforting feeling. I heard a voice whisper to me, "Cherie, you've always known it's true." I will always remember that sweet, gentle, warm feeling and the moment when I knew that I have always known, deep in my heart that the gospel is true. I was blessed to be taught it from the very beginning of my life. It has helped me to love those around me. It has helped me to avoid some of the addicting habits that have ensnared my peers and loved ones. Because I have chosen to live the gospel, I have been guided and led in ways I never would have imagined. I have met many wonderful people. I met my wonderful husband. We have been able to establish an eternal, happy marriage. Because of the gospel we have been strengthened and comforted through hard times, and felt the joy and peace that comes with striving to live the commandments. I'm a Mormon because it is the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has given me everything, He loves me, cares about me, and wants the best for me. He died for me. I don't know where I would be without the gospel in my life. Because of the gospel, I know that my family is forever and we can all work to return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again together.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith on a daily basis. Of course, I am not perfect, I make mistakes, but I try. I love to go to play dates and mothers groups. We got to story time at the library and out and about running errands. I participate in the women's organization in our ward, and most recently helped to plan the annual Christmas dinner. I have previously taught children's Sunday school, and also taught and helped in the nursery at Church. We try to be friendly and kind to all we meet, and to help and give aid when needed. We try to emulate Christ in all we do, and even though we fall short, the important thing is to keep trying.
