Hi I'm Stanley

I'm an Orthodontist. I love leather work, woodworking, and gardening and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an orthodontist. My wife and I have three boys together. This past fall we became "empty nesters" as our youngest son went to collage. I have been in practice for 17 years and love what I do. I enjoy building things out of wood i.e. cabinets, pergola, shelves, etc.. I like doing leather work, computers and enjoy square foot gardening. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but every person comes to a point in their life when they need to know for themselves the truth of things. For me, that occurred when I was 14 years old. I felt a desire to know if the Mormon church was true for myself and I knew where to find the answer - "The Book of Mormon". I knew that everything hinged on that book. If it is true, Mormonism is true. If it is false, then Mormonism is false. So I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed about it. God answered my prayer with strong internal feelings that it was true. Since then my testimony has grown as I continued to "test" the principles of the gospel and experienced the promised results. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me peace and happiness. It will bring the same to anyone who sincerely follows the commandments of God in this true church. I know that the Mormon church is true. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The gospel was restored to the earth and there is a real prophet on the earth today. I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

I am active in our local church congregation. Everyone has their own job in the church and contributes to the "church community" to make things run. My job involves leading a group of men who hold the priesthood in the church. It is my responsibility to see that we, as a group, determine and meet the needs of those in our church and to reach out to those in the community that are in need. It is a very demanding and humbling responsibility, but it is very rewarding as well. My job is a volunteer position, as are all jobs in the church. Without volunteers, there would be no Mormon Church. I also volunteer one night a week as a worker in the local temple where sacred ordinances are performed. The temple where I work is run by 1,100 volunteers of all different walks of life and backgrounds.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The Mormon church is the easiest religion in the world to investigate. The Book of Mormon is the key. If it is true, then Joseph Smith had to be a prophet and the church is true. If it is not true, then he was the best con man in history. So, how can you know if it is true or not? Simple, read it an pray about it to ask God. He will answer you as he has answered me by the power of the Holy Ghost. You will just feel it is true and know that no man could have written it. Once you find out that The Book of Mormon is true, everything else will fall into place. As you learn about the teachings of the church, such as the Plan of Salvation, you will "recognize" the truth. God will let you know in his own way. He always does. Show more Show less
