Hi I'm Yvonne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of six children. I am both their mother and father at the same time. I am married to their father, but he is not supportive in the home. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints six years now. I have faced many challenges both at work and at home. I am presently employed in the shipping industry as a Customs Broker Clerk. I remember my children's father got me pregnant and he moved out of the home and leave me to perish. I was angry with him at the time, but I just continuing working and prepared for my little one. one day I went to work and I was in labour, I went home to get some rest, two days after I had my child, I was the only one in the house when she came into the world... She is fifteen years now... I am grateful for the gospel in my life now, and I would love to share with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was seeking for a change of career. I was unaccepted after passing all requirements for the career. I came home very hurt, angry, disappointed. i was crying very loud, then a voice speak to me. Seek ye first the kingdom of GOD..... I answer to the voice, but no reply. Then , I remember the ten commandments.... one of the commandment trouble my mind...Keep the sabbath holy. I did not know which day was the sabbath. I asked the voice which was the sabbath, but no reply.... I said to the voice; lead me to the sabbath and I will serve God.... One month afterwards, two white missionaries came to my gateway. They were looking for a young woman ; whom I know very well. They missed her gate and was at my gate. I see them and invited them to sit on my verandah. Then I questioned them both. I called the person, but she never come, and I did not tell them where to find her. But i asked them what did they want from her. They both replied; they need to teach her the gospel of Jesus Christ. I told them to teach me. They introduced the Book of Mormon to me and invited me to read a paragraph of the front page. I did and something took over my body, which I have never in my entire life experience. They help me to understand that it was the light of Christ. I asked the when they could come again. They said on the Wednesday. This was a Sunday evening. I study with them for 6 months. And I told them I need to be baptized. I felt the same way Joseph Smith felt when He saw God and Jesus. I knew what the voice said to me. I knew what I asked the voice to lead me to the sabbath day. I knew everything we talked about the gospel was true.... I am grateful to be a Mormon. I am grateful for the Scriptures in my life and in my home. Amen...

How I live my faith

Pray, ponder and search my scriptures. Then I applied it in my life as I learn.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Mormons are the only church having the proper priesthood authority from God and with the correct mode of baptism. When Jesus established His church, He personally instructed and directed its leaders. Jesus received His instructions from His Father in Heaven. (see Hebrews 1:1-2.) The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus church and it is directed by God and not by men. Jesus taught His followers that revelation was the "ROCK" upon which He would build His Church. (Matthew 16:16-18) The ordinances and principles of the gospel cannot be administered and taught without the priesthood. The Father gave this authority to JESUS CHRIST. (Hebrews 5: 4-6). Jesus Christ in turn ordained His Apostles and gave them power and authority of the priesthood. Luke 9: 1-2; Mark 3:14 Jesus reminded them, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you" (John 15:16). Amen... Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Heavenly Father prepared a plan of salvation . He sent us from his presence to live on earth and received mortal bodies. Mortal bodies are subject to sin and death. Our mortal bodies will die and our spirit will go to the spirit world. The spirit world is a place of waiting , working and learning. Our spirit will live there untill we are ready for our resurrection. Our mortal bodies will once more united with our spirit and we will received the degree of glory we have prepared for. This is called physical death. Physical death is temporary. Amen... Show more Show less
