Hi I'm Eli

I'm a medical student, husband, and father. After chasing my daughter, I enjoy basketball, reading, and soccer.

About Me

I am a father, husband, and medical student. I do my best to balance family time, preparing for my career, and keeping my life focused on Jesus Christ. While school is demanding, I am lucky to have the perspective of the restored church of Christ and the loving support of my wife. I love to play basketball, soccer, and tennis. I also enjoy reading when I can find the time. More than anything I try to make my daughter laugh, but unfortunately she doesn't always find my jokes to be funny.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I find peace and joy when I follow the teachings of Christ. My life is not without challenges or discouragement, but the faith I have in Christ lifts me up. I know that as I am obedient to the commandments of God I am strengthened and able to face challenges. I am especially grateful for how the church and the teachings of Christ bless and strengthen my young family. We learn and grow together as we gather in family prayer, read from the scriptures each night as a family, and have family time and share our beliefs each Monday evening. The Book of Mormon, the teachings of church leaders, and the Bible help my family learn to face our trials with faith and become better people. It helps us to improve and to maintain a perspective greater than what day to day life provides. We are happier when we follow Christ's example.

How I live my faith

I hope that my faith is not something that I ever put on and off. I try to have it be woven throughout my daily experiences. I try to treat my wife, child, strangers, co-workers, and friends in a way that expresses my faith and Christ's love. In my church I volunteer as an assistant to our local congregation's pastor. It is challenging to balance my responsibilities as a husband, father, and student with my responsibilities in church. Yet, I know my wife and I have seen many blessings as both of us sacrifice to serve others. We know that God blesses us in many ways as we do our best to serve. We are volunteers, so we are not professional trained or compensated, but God strengthens us as we serve.
