Hi I'm Jason

I am a Canadian Mormon.

About Me

I am a married father of two teenage boys.I am a Director of Sales for a large Life Insurance company in Canada and have worked in the industry for 20 years. I enjoy being very active in their lives. I take the youngest to a few Nascar tracks each year since that is his passion as well as racing mini Indy karts. The oldest one is a pure musician from drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitar to singing and writing music. We do attend alot of concerts throughout the year and have lots of fun. Some of my hobbies are working out, photography and playing with my puppy! And I am blessed to have an awesome wife!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Catholic for the first 18 years of my life. My parents split up when I was 10 years old and my twin brother and I were left to live with our dad. I always had a strong desire even as a young boy to want to return and live with God and could not figure out why I had such desire. My dad remarried a member of the Church and one day when I was 15 I asked her about life after death. After hearing about the Plan of Salvation I was filled with joy knowing that this was right...exactly as I thought it should be.....it was fair and I knew that we indeed had a loving Father in Heaven. The missionaries taught us the discussions and I was so happy....it was as if something was lost and now is found. My decision to be baptized was one of the greatest events of my life. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and I know that for myself.....the spirit bore witness. Joseph Smith was a prophet and the book he helped bring forth to the world even the Book of Mormon is the very word of God and another testatment of Jesus Christ. We have a living prophet on the earth today and a foundation of apostles to lead and guide the Church through Jesus Christ. Life has meaning and purpose because of my faith. What I am blessed with money cannot buy and what I have been given is eternal. Families are indeed forever. In the name of Jesus Christ my Saviour and yours. Amen

How I live my faith

I am very active in serving in my community. I served on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement to teach youth about buisness and entrepreneurialship. I also still assist with the MS Society Board of Directors as well as present involvement in the Children's Miracle Network through my work at Foresters. This past summer I was Co-Chair for a local golf event as we strive to raise needed monies for a playground on the rooftop of a local Children's Hospital. It will allow the sick kids a chance to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine and play as they face some very challenging diseases and disorders. I currently serve as Bishop of our Ward. I was in the Young Mens program and loved teaching the youth about the scriptures and preparation for their missions. We had fun with our activities and I love watching the youth grow up in the gospel. They have so many temptations these days and need guidance and a testimony of Christ to see them through trials and decisions to choose the right. Its a serving each other Church and I am happiest when I am serving others. After all service is the rent you pay for living! We care for each member not only at Church on Sundays but through a program called Hometeaching where we visit some members and deliver a short message and assist in any service they may need. Its an active Church that seeks to do good continually.

Are Mormons Christians?

I get that asked alot and when I was a missionary I would take off my tag which had my name on it and would show the inquiring person as it says the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Its His Church...it bears His name and he is the cornerstone of our religion. So that's easy...we follow Christ and we are very much Christians. Show more Show less
