Hi I'm Michael

I'm a convert, and have found it's a wonderful perspective to learn of God

About Me

I'm a very fortunate husband. I converted from Pentecostal or rather Assemblies of God religion, my wife was raised Catholic. We have 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren. We thank God every day that He led us to this Church. Our life and spiritual futures improve daily as a direct result of tapping into this never-ending knowledge of our God who wishes to help us find joy and peace. The Book of Mormon together with the Bible teach the same principles, but at a much faster and more comprehensive rate. They are companions forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I had a secret desire all my adult life ~ to find the greatest amount of God's truth available on earth. I'd never told this to anyone... but God knew it. At one point I was raising 2 young children by myself, overwhelmed and lonely for a companion, but one that would also be of Heavenly Father's choosing for me. So I enlisted God's help, in faith believing that He knows us closely and desires the best for all His spirit children. Through time and much prayer He helped me cross paths with a non-active LDS woman raising her 2 children alone. Through many spiritual discussions she showed me in the Scriptures more of God's simple, beautiful truths than I'd ever heard from any pulpit of any church in my life! And I marveled and wondered "How can this be?" We married and began attending the Church meetings together. She became active in the Church again while I investigated, until I realized that all my secret desires had come to be. Also everyone involved were now closer to God and more like the individuals we always wished to be. It is my testimony that Heavenly Father knows us personally and can make ALL things work together for good to those that ask in faith and wait on the Lord. He cares. That's why I'll always call myself Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have to say I LOVE working with the full-time missionaries who've been dedicated to our area. Going to meet with people who wish to know a little more about this restored church and it's living gospel is surprisingly enjoyable. It's a very fulfilling feeling to be invited to someone's home to discuss some of Heavenly Father's simple, beautiful truths - - everyone comes away a better, happier person. I've had other callings in the church, but assisting the missionaries is the best!
