Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a California native, and currently a medical student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 27 year old single adult, and currently a medical student, so I study all the time! I enjoy it though. I grew up in California and miss the beach, and I'm sort of an exercise-aholic. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, ran track in college, and am a certified personal trainer. I love most sports, both watching and playing. I'm also an aspiring humanitarian. I created a small charitable group that reaches out to community members in need, and am involved in some global health projects.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in this church, but it took until my teenage years before I was really personally converted to it. I spent a lot of time as a teenager reading the Book of Mormon and praying to God to know if it was true. I had been taught that it was, but I reached a point when I realized I didn't know for myself, and set out to find out. Earlier in my teenage years I had come to know that God lived, Jesus Christ was His Son, and that they were aware of me as an individual. As I sought to know if they were there I was overwhelmed by the feelings of the Holy Spirit, blanketing me and assuring me God was there and loved me. From there I sought to know if the Book of Mormon was true, and if God was behind this church. As I studied the book and prayed to God, in time the answers came to my heart in a way that I could not mistake them. Since that time, God has answered countless numbers of my prayers, and His Spirit has confirmed to my heart and mind that this is His church. The answers that have come to my prayers have been so frequent and unmistakable, that it is impossible to deny what I know is true. I've read the Book of Mormon and the Bible several times through, and each time I do I gain new insights into my life, and find new messages seemingly directed at me. I know that neither book could have been created by man alone.

How I live my faith

I've been asked to fill many positions in the church, and currently I work with the ward mission. Our goal is to reach out to other members of the community who are not of our faith, and share our faith with them, much like this website is designed to do. I also have four other ward members that I have been assigned to "home teach" each month. I go visit them in their homes, to share a spiritual message with them and look out for their needs. It's a great program that allows us to be sure everyone is being looked after and needs are being met.
