Hi I'm Karla

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. I teach children's show choirs, and I love learning how to play instruments. I'm the ward organist, and I love this calling. Although most of my hobbies involve music, I have a very wide spectrum of things I enjoy doing. This includes but is not limited to: canoeing in flooded parks photo booths making movies editing pictures quoting TV shows watching old movies and spending time with my family I am studying elementary education at my university, and I tutor in math. Education has come to be of great importance in my life, and I strive to do my best in my classes. One of the elements that determines a lot of who I am is my culture. I was involved with Mexican folk dancing and Mariachi so as to maintain the musical part of my family's culture. I feel I have embraced a lot of cultures, and they have embraced me in return. I have a love for my heritage, but I have grown so fond of the cultures that are around me. I hope to be able to captivate the elements of all of them and make them a part of me as I continue to grow and learn. My friends are diverse, my family is diverse, and I love that I don't have to fit in one mold.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. My parents were both catholic, but they both joined the LDS faith, and I'm very grateful for it. My testimony has grown slowly but surely, and I can say that I know the church is true. I've seen the many blessings that come from being a part of this faith, and I see constant reminders of my Heavenly Father's love for me throughout each day, assuring me that I am on the right path. I could never see myself leaving this church. The gospel has made my life whole, and I could never be without this feeling.

How I live my faith

I play piano and organ in my ward, and I very much appreciate the opportunity I have been given to do this. I've also been given the opportunity to teach English twice a month. These callings have made me appreciate a lot of the blessings I have and realize how much I have been given. By practicing these skills, I am also able to multiply my talents, and I am so grateful for this. At school, there are a lot of opportunities to serve, especially through the institute. I live my faith by staying clean and striving to be a proper representative. I know that if I treat others with love and respect, days will be brightened and smiles will multiply. By trying to be an example, I become a better person. I'm trying to become the best person I can be by trying to view others the way the Savior would view them. I've come to make a lot of friends, and when somebody becomes your friend, you want to serve them. I want to meet others, and I want my friends to meet others. We are creating bonds that can change lives. I just feel happy, and I want everybody to feel this way.
