Hi I'm Michelle

I am a convert to the Mormon faith and love science.

About Me

I have been a convert to the the Church of Jesus Christ for 6 years. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Microbiology and love science. To me it is the study of God's creations, and it fascinates me. I like to do lots of things that are related to the arts like art, dance, cake decorating, playing the violin, sewing and so forth. I have been married to my husband for 5 years and have 3 beautiful, wonderful children. I feel very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had several confirming witnesses from the Holy Ghost that this church is true. My last witness though happen this way; one night my father asked me like he did lots of times "have you read the book of Mormon yet?" I answered him and said I need to read the bible first and I haven't read through the whole bible yet". Of course, I was not making any progress toward this end and my father knew this as well. At this point my Dad told me " What are you going to do when you stand before God and he asks you" why didn't you read my books?"". For some reason that statement pierced my heart more than anything that my father had ever told me before. It was then that I realized that I would be accountable toward God for not reading and asking our Father in Heaven if this book was a true book of scripture. It was my responsibility to listen, read and to find out for myself if it was true. Then came the time that I had to know once and for all if it was true or not so I prayed, hoping that it would not be true. This of course gave me no answer so instead i prayed that i would be able to have a sincere heart so that at a later time i might pray and receive an answer to my prayer. After that prayer my perspective was changed and I have no other way to describe it other then when I saw members of the church at my high school it seemed to me like they glowed. It was as if the spirit was whispering to me "they have something that you want". After that I didn't have to pray any more whether the church was true, I knew it was. I know that other people who learn about the restoration of the gospel and its teachings and pray about them will know that there can be no other source from which these doctrines and teachings have come but from God, our eternal and loving Father.

How I live my faith

I teach my children about their Heavenly Father and how much he loves us. I try to be a good mom and wife, but I do a lot of things wrong, and when that happens I try to recognize it, repent and do better next time. Marriage in our faith is an eternal principle, and not something that you can handle carelessly if you get offended by your partner. I do understand that in some cases divorce may be the only course of action, but I do believe that the gospel can help in those cases. Understanding this principle I have realized that there are two sides to every thing and I have tried to understand my husbands perspective more. In doing this I have found that most times when I get offend it is because I am not looking at the situation as a partnership but as a self gratifying union.
