Hi I'm Shellie

I'm a mom. I live in Florida. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 4 kids. 3 are grown. I spend my time chasing after my dog and keeping up with my remaining teenager. I also am enjoying relearning to play the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

Because the church is true! I spent a great deal of time trying to find something. I didn't know what at the time. Looking into different religions and ideas. I went through plenty of missionaries and asked loads of questions. But, in the end, it was the Holy Ghost that prompted me to be baptized and then slowly step by step I began to learn about the gospel. It has changed my life so much so for the better and given me greater peace and safety in this crazy world we live in.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the church and currently I am responsible for the music. I choose the songs to sing in our Sacrament meeting and I also am responsible for conducting the choir. I think that the most important thing I do, though, may not involve what I do on any given Sunday but is more about how I live my life in general. I hope that I am a good example of what the Savior would have me be and that as a representative of his name, I never do anything that I would be sorry for.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Because the Lord tells us to. In Malachi in the Old Testament, the Jews are rebuked for robbing God by not paying tithes and offerings. The tithing we pay helps to build the Kingdom of God on this earth. It is used for buildings and spreading the gospel. Show more Show less
