Hi I'm Dave

I'm a CPA, a husband to a beautiful wife and father to two beautiful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a CPA specializing in business tax. I enjoy being part of a profession where I am relied upon to help save a company money and where integrity is a vital characteristic. I also enjoy running. I have completed one marathon, two half-marathons and some relay races. Running is very soothing for me. I love getting outside in the early morning and letting my mind wander as I think about the day ahead. I enjoy a good John Grisham or Dan Brown novel when I am getting ready to wind down for the evening. I have been married for 9 1/2 years to a beautiful and loving wife. I am also the proud father of a 5 1/2 year old son and a 3 1/2 year old daughter. I enjoy spending my free time with them and seeing the world through their eyes. There is never a dull moment in our home. We enjoy watching movies and eating popcorn together. We also love a swim in the pool and bike ride to the park.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a long line of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dating back to the infancy of the church in upstate New York, on my father's side. Conversely, on my mother's side I am only a 2nd generation member of the church. I am very grateful and proud of my heritage on both sides. Growing a member of the church isn't always easy and there came a time in my teenage years where I needed to learn about the gospel for myself. I had spent the first 16 years of my life going through the motions of being a member of the church. One Saturday morning in the spring of my junior year of high school I opened my Book of Mormon (which was somewhat rare at this time in my life) and read chapters 2 & 3 of Ether. The power of these chapters engulfed me and I was feeling things that I never had felt before. I felt a peace and joy that words can't properly describe as the Brother of Jared saw the Lord Jesus Christ and was instructed from him. I knew with absolute certainty that what I was reading was true. My life has been forever different from that day. My life hasn't been easy by any means but my faith in Jesus Christ and his restored gospel has definitely buoyed me up during the trials and temptations that I have faced. As I have strived to live the gospel as Christ and his chosen prophets have taught, I have experienced so much joy and satisfaction. I know that I have a savior who willingly took upon him not only my sins but all of the sorrows I have faced, now face and will face. He knows exactly what I am going through in my life and more importantly, he knows how to help me overcome anything that stands in my way. He is the way to eternal life and true happiness. Despite my imperfections and weaknesses, I know that he loves my unconditionally. I know that he calls prophets even today to guide and lead his church, which church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I currently am part of a very large congregation and help serve the men between the ages of 18-50 or so. I enjoy spending time with these wonderful men and have learned so much from their examples. Along with 3 others we direct the teaching, community service opportunities, and overall welfare of the men and their families. It is a very fulfilling responsibility. I have grown to love and appreciate those who I have had the opportunity to both serve and be served by. On occasion I also have the opportunity to help teach the classes that my two children are part of. I love spending time with them and teaching them what I know about the church and sharing experiences that I have had in my life.
