Hi I'm Robert

I'm a Mormon. I live in Oregon, USA.

About Me

I am a banker turned consultant and love the outdoors. Fly-fishing for trout is one of my favorite activities. I have a family and enjoy sharing outdoor adventures with them.  Much of my time is spent in church service which provides rich blessings in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is of the Mormon faith. I have found out for my own that the teachings of the church are true and when followed provide joy and lasting happiness. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives meaning and purpose to life. In a troubled world it is nice to have direction and a solid foundation.

How I live my faith

I have served in many ways during my life. Many years have been working with scouts and young men 12 to 18. It is very rewarding watching them grow and develop through service and fun activities. Caving, skiing, bodyboarding, and backpacking are just a few of the fun activities. Shoveling snow, clearing blackberry bushes, repairing homes, and community projects are just a few examples of service given by the young men. Personally I try to serve others as Christ would. Life isn't always easy but following Christ helps me through the tough times. Simple things like daily prayer and scripture study along with weekly worship at church provide a great foundation. The focus of the church is supporting the family which helps me with raising my children. The church isn't restrictive as some outside may believe, it is liberating. The Gospel can free us from the burden of sin and keep us healthy and strong. The gospel inspires us to set goals and be the best we can.

Are Mormons Christians?

We believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. Without Christ we cannot live with God again. We believe Christ is at the head of our church and directs a living prophet on the earth. Every aspect of our lives should be centered in and around Christ. Show more Show less
