Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in Arizona, and now I live in Ohio where I am going to medical school.

About Me

My wife and I are balancing raising our children with the demands of a medical education. In our free time we enjoy camping, barbequing, and foreign cuisine, and I also enjoy playing racquetball and soccer.

Why I am a Mormon

Experience has shown me that the closer I model my life after Christ's teachings, the happier I am. And I've found the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be the most perfect source of Christ's Gospel.

How I live my faith

I try my best to understand what is right, and then I do it regardless of the consequences.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, in fact no one is required to serve a mission. Men 19-26 are "called" or invited to serve. Women and older couples are also encouraged to serve missions. Every member is also encouraged to be a "missionary" to their friends, coworkers, and family members. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

The name "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" is the official name of the church, and it is a fitting name since it describes exactly what the church is. The name "Mormons" is a nickname given to us because of our belief in a book of scripture called "The Book of Mormon." Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

We believe that we lived with God before we were born here on Earth, and that after we die we return to him to be judged on how we lived our lives. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

This is a common misconception. The truth is, we worship God and Jesus Christ. We regard Joseph Smith as a prophet, like Abraham, Moses, or Peter. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons believe the Bible to be the word of God. Furthermore, it is always listed first in our "Standard Works", or lists of books that the church regards as scripture. We do believe that there is more scripture in addition to the Bible, in particular the Book of Mormon, which serves to confirm and clarify the Bible. Show more Show less
