Hi I'm Gary
I grew up in the deep south, central Louisiana. As a child, I went to the Methodist Church, now I'm a Mormon!
About Me
My wife and I have four children, we have lived in several states across the country, so our family now lives in 5 different states, creates quite a challenge for family get-to-gethers! I love the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, and even yard work. The world we live in is a beautilful place and the more I view God's creations, the more I am amazed.
Why I am a Mormon
I was raised in a very conventional protestant home, my family attended church every Sunday and had some wonderful friends who served in that little Methodist church and I still have fond memories. As I grew up and for a while went the ways of the world, in my heart I knew something was missing. I was not happy, even with success in many ways, there was a void in my life. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has changed my life. I know my purpose, I love my family and desire to be with them eternally. As Abe Lincoln said "when I do good, I feel good", our church helps me to feel good!
How I live my faith
I volunteer in our church doing missionay activities . We work with other members to help those who are not of our faith understand us a little better. I work in the field of Agriculture and see the correlation between science and religion. Our Church teaches about provident living and emergency preparedness. On occasion I will give presentations to organizations such as Lion's Club, Exchange Club, even college classes, on global food supply issues and Agricultural advances which work toward trying to "feed a hungry world".
