Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and have six children. I retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2005. I spent 21 years in the service. Over half my Air Force career was spent overseas. I'm currently working for the Air Force as a civilian Budget Analyst. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my family on hikes and bike rides. I also enjoy fishing, camping and every once in a while I like to take my motorcycle on a ride.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church. I was born into the faith but as I grew older I had to decide for myself if what I was taught was true. Through study of the scriptures and prayer I came to the knowledge that the gospel was restored and the authority of God was upon the earth. I was blessed to serve the Lord on a mission in Australia working to serve the people, I once again gained greater understanding of Gods plan for his children. We no longer have to live in darkness, but light. It is my belief that all of God's children can go to him in prayer an he will guide them to the truth. Our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ love us. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of us all, he took upon him the sins of the world and died that we might live. He opened the gate for us to return to live with our Father in Heaven. If we live his commandments we are all entitled to his blessings. I'm glad my parents invited the missionaries into their home. They took the challenge to read the Book of Mormon and pray to find out for themselves if it was true. They have both returned to the God that gave them life, but have let behind ten children that where raise to love God. Not all of use remain members of the church, but we are all blessed with good parents that taught us that Jesus Christ is our savior.

How I live my faith

I serve as a counselor to a Bishop in the church. The area that we live in has a lot of great people. One of my areas of responsibilities is to work with the youth in the church. I've helped out on youth conferences that cover youth from all over our state. Along with youth dances and weekly activities, I also get a chance to work with great people in and out of the church. Twice a year we work with the local community in a city wide clean up.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

David
No. We honor and respect him as a Prophet. Just as most faiths do not worship Moses or any other prophet in the bible. We give them respect and understand that they were called of God and had his authority to bless and lead his children. We worship only God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
