Hi I'm Heather

I am a Latter-Day Saint!

About Me

I am the frazzled mother of three little ones, and wife of a medical student. I have lived in Utah, Alaska, Korea, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Ohio. Phew! I love snuggling with my babies, experimenting with new recipes, reading cookbooks --is that weird?!-- and books that help me become a better wife and mother, jumping in puddles, and eating sweets. I love being with my family and watching my children learn and blossom into who they are.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I feel at home here. I know that God is my Father. He knows me, He loves me, and He answers my prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and if I trust Him and strive to follow Him, I will be happy and feel peace in my life. I feel like my life is in His hands, which brings me so much comfort. He wants me to be happy and He is taking care of me. There is no one I would rather have looking out for me! I have felt so many times a witness in my heart that this is His church, and it is where I belong. I know that Jesus Christ died for me, and that through the Covenants I have made with Him, I can return to be with Him and Heavenly Father again. I have also found the answers I need in this church. I know my life has a purpose. Being a member of the church puts everything in my life in proper perspective. I know the reasons why I do the things I do. It gives me motivation and the direction I need.

How I live my faith

I am part of the leadership over the women's organization in my congregation. My primary responsibility is to plan activities for the women in our area that will help them both temporally and spiritually to achieve their potential. It can be a lot of work sometimes, but it's also really fulfilling and fun! I love working with the amazing women in my congregation and learning from their examples. I live my faith on a more personal level by striving to keep all the commandments that Heavenly Father has given me. I pray to Him, and strive to receive and live according to His guidance. I make mistakes, but each day I have the opportunity to try again, to be more patient, more kind and loving. I am dependent upon and so grateful for the Mercy of Heavenly Father and Grace of Jesus Christ. I am trying to teach my children how to develop a personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ so they too can feel the peace and direction that brings. I am doing this by teaching them to pray, by reading the scriptures together as a family every day, and by talking to them about the blessings we receive every day from God. I want them to know and love the stories of Jesus, so they can come to know and trust Him.
