Hi I'm Sean

I live in Ohio, finishing up medical school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a fourth year medical student, graduating in May and starting residency in July. I am pursuing the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. I enjoy helping others and improving quality of life. In April 2010, I was privileged to spend a month in South Africa working in a government hospital and loved helping the good people there. I also enjoyed going safariing on the weekends. I love the African wildlife and being outdoors anywhere. I enjoy playing and viewing nearly every sport with football, basketball and soccer being my favorites. I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction books, and love spending time with my wife, family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of who it helps me become. The values embraced by the Church give me goals for my personal character to develop that I really haven't found elsewhere. I feel a deep peace as I strive to live the values and help those in my family and congregation do the same. The values are shaped after Jesus Christ and the perfect example he set while on earth. I know that He LIVES today! He was Resurrected and glorified and will come again. His church today is guided by a Prophet and Apostles, just as in the ancient church that Christ himself established. That ancient church was restored by a young boy, Joseph Smith, and the Book of Mormon translated by him and brought forth as another testament of Jesus Christ during the same time period. In a world of so much uncertainty, I know these things are true and it is hard to calculate just how important these truths are for me specifically and the world in general.

How I live my faith

I have found the old adage “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” a very wise saying, and really is how I strive to live my faith and life. I try to serve in the church in whatever capacity is needed, whether it’s taking care of the children under two during meetings on Sunday, teaching a lesson during Sunday school, or being a ward missionary and helping to take care of the needs of the people in our area, both members and others not of the same faith. It is heartwarming to be a part of a worldwide church where every member has made promises to help one another in time of need and is striving to live by the teachings of Jesus Christ. I too try to live my faith by fulfilling these promises and help others in need.
