Hi I'm Bruce

I was born and raised in Tennessee but have now lived in 5 different states and Japan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 49 year old, real estate banker, husband, father of 2 girls, 2 boys, and a grandfather to the 3 cutest little boys on earth! I enjoy good food, football, traveling, working in the yard and working to improve my community. I am an Eagle Scout along with my 5 brothers, 2 sons and son-in-law. Having our family work together on projects that improve our community and help the poor bring me great pride and pleasure. My family means everything to me. My greatest fulfillment in life is watching them grow more faithful and independant every day.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors have been Mormon since the earliest days of the Church. My great-great grandfather was President of the Church over 100 years ago. This is how I was introduced to the Church, but this is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have studied and prayed to know if this is God's Church on the earth and I have received a witness of the Spirit that it is true. As I have served in the Church, I have come to see the fruits of the gospel and how it has blessed my life and the lives of my family members. I have seen the atonement of Jesus Christ literally change lives and bring hope to the hopeless and joy to the burdened.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do something every day to bless someone else's life. I currently serve with the young single adults in our area. I get to watch them progress in their schooling, careers and relationships. For 2 years I was in charge of our regional Day of Service. This Day of Service has brought over 1,000 members of our church and partnered with another 1,000 community members from other churches to repair homes, landscape neighborhoods, paint local churches, and beautify public spaces in the Chattanooga, TN area. This has been an incredibly fulfilling opportunity to serve! I now serve on a community redevelopment board working to improve the inner city through improved hosing and health care and on the Area Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

In my heart I believe that "Forever Families" is one of the greatest doctrines of the Mormon Church. I can not image an eternity without my sweet wife beside me and a continued association with my extended family and children. "Til death do you part" is the saddest thing I have ever heard! Knowing that my family can be together forever makes me want to work harder at these eternal relationships. This knowledge draws our family closer as we realize that this is no short term activity - it is eternal. Nothing makes me happier than knowing that God loves me enough to give me this beautiful woman as a wife forever! Everyone needs to know that they can have this too. It is worth all the effort in the world!  Show more Show less
