Hi I'm Autumn.

I'm from Utah. I go to the University of Utah and I'm studying to be a social studies teacher. I'm Mormon.

About Me

I have always lived in Utah. I am married to the man of my dreams and my best friend. I am currently attending college, and I am studying to become a social studies teacher for secondary education. I love working with youth and find myself learning more from them than they do from me. In terms of hobbies, I enjoy painting, reading, writing, snowboarding, running, biking, hiking, cooking, and traveling. I also love music, and I enjoy singing and occasionally writing music with my extremely talented singer-songwriter husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Mormon setting, but for years my family was not consistently active in the church. When I was a teenager my dad passed away, and this trying time was the catalyst that eventually led me to find my own testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I now know that there is life after death, and that families can be together forever. This knowledge helped me through my darkest hours, and it continues to give my life hope and meaning. I have since married the love of my life in the temple, and we are sealed together for all time and eternity. Words cannot express the joy that I feel knowing that my marriage and family can be eternal, and that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven again because His son, Jesus Christ, has paid the ultimate price. I am grateful for my life and and the opportunity that it presents to learn and grow. I am grateful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. It truly brings peace and happiness in this life and in the life to come. I am grateful for the atonement of Christ, for the process of repentance, and ultimately for the plan of happiness prepared by my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

In our ward, I am a ward missionary, and my husband is the ward mission leader. Ours is a mission of search and rescue. We work together with the missionaries and the leaders in our ward to spread the Gospel and serve the people in community--both members and non-members alike. I also participate in a program called visiting teaching. This is a calling in the Church's women's organization (Relief Society). I am assigned certain women to visit, teach, and look out for in the ward. I do this along with another sister in the ward (my companion). Both of these callings have been incredible and I enjoy them immensely. Ultimately, I live my faith by doing the simple, yet profound things that are of indescribable worth. I pray to my heavenly father daily and constantly seek to draw near unto him. I also read and study my scriptures daily, and allow the holy ghost to testify of truth and teach me. I attend church and the temple, and I try to magnify my callings. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is organized in such a way that it becomes a way of life. It supports me, teaches me, and constantly makes me want to be better--more like my savior.
