Hi I'm Nathan

I love my life. I married my sweetheart and we have two adorable little girls. I love basketball and keeping active. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Adelaide, Australia apart from a stint in Hong Kong when I was a toddler. I was lucky enough to find my sweetheart here in Adelaide and we were married in 2006. My Karlie is the most gorgeous, talented, loving and supportive wife. We've been blessed with two very cute, fun and energetic little girls. When I arrive home from work each day, they run to the door yelling, 'Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!' and hang off my leg while I come in the door. I've been playing basketball since I was about 10 years old and still love to play. I have a pretty active lifestyle and really enjoy exercise and playing sports. I was fortunate enough to spend time growing up participating in a variety of outdoor sports, including skiing and water skiing - getting the best of both winter and summer. I'm still keen to have a go at new things, so recently added wake boarding and snow boarding to my interests. If only it snowed in Adelaide... I'm a primary school teacher in my 4th year and currently teach Year 2 students at an all-girls school. It is a fantastic place to be and I look forward to going to work every day. Being around young children who are eager to learn is quite a nice experience and we have a lot of fun in my classroom. My school is ELC-12 so I'm lucky enough to also be involved in coaching sport, mainly basketball, across a few year levels. I tell my wife regularly that I love my life and feel so blessed to be in the position I'm in.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon and relied upon my parents' beliefs as motivation for continued attendance and participation in Church meetings and activities. At about age fifteen I began to study the doctrines and principles of the Church and gained a belief of them for myself. Since this time I have had many experiences which have reaffirmed my belief in and gratitude for the doctrines of the Church. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that because of Him we can gain forgiveness and find peace and true happiness in life.

How I live my faith

I believe that Jesus Christ's life and teachings have enabled me to live a better life than I otherwise would. Because of His example, I know how to be a better person to my family and others. Each day I try to be a kind and considerate person and I strive to develop the talents I have been blessed with. I feel that living my faith is about standing up for what I believe in and allowing others around me to express their beliefs, whether similar or different to mine, without fear of judgement or crticism. People who spend time around me would probably notice that I don't swear or tell dirty jokes. They would probably notice that I don't drink tea, coffee or alcohol and that I try to live a pretty healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and balanced nutrition. They would see that I am a positive and happy person. Helping others is also an important part of our faith. I have helped orchestrate volunteer removalist teams on about 25 different occasions, helping people move house who would normally have trouble finding helpers or would have struggled financially with the cost of a move. I'm also a regular at the blood bank and recently switched to donating plasma, which can be donated much more frequently.
