Hi I'm Lisa.

I'm a Mormon, a mother and a wife.

About Me

I'm a mother of 5, and a wife. I teach piano. I enjoy exercising, learning, and serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon originally because my parents raised me with these tenets. But, through my own personal study and many remarkable experiences throughout my life, I have come to know that this is the true church. I recognize daily how being a member saves me from many difficulties in life, and gives me access to the greatest peace and happiness!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving jointly with my husband as our nursery leader. We care for the children ages 18-3 years during our church services on Sundays. I reflect on the tenderness and love that Jesus Christ felt towards the little children and feel blessed to be able to serve in this capacity. That is only part of my role right now in living my faith. I am also a visiting teacher. I get to visit with other women in my church on a regular basis and we share with each other and strengthen one another. I feel blessed to know so many wonderful women and feel strengthened by each one. These are a couple of things I do inside my church walls and within the walls of other ladies, but I live my faith as I try to be kind to others and look outside myself. I think that my biggest challenge is living the way I should, the way Christ would live, within the walls of my own home. I try daily to learn of him through studying the scriptures and praying throughout the day to react and feel the way He would. Although I fall short daily, I rely upon His grace and forgiveness to pick me up and try again. I love knowing that Jesus Christ's power saves and redeems me daily!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

It is difficult to answer what all Mormon women are like since there are so many differences- personality, background, race, size, shape, talents, etc. But if I could generalize what active, practicing Mormon women are trying to be like by following closely the teachings of the gospel I would say the following: Mormon women are kind, service- oriented, beautiful, helpful, educated, rejoice in bearing/rearing/teaching children of all ages, are not threatened because we don't hold the priesthood but encourage the men to living righteously, gentle and meek but strong and courageous, hard-working, loving, forgiving. These are a few of the attributes Mormon women are sincerely trying to cultivate. Mormon women absolutely believe in equality between men and women. We are all created equal and are Heavenly Father's children. We do understand, however, that we hold different responsibilities and traits and rejoice in our divine roles. Show more Show less
