Hi I'm Quinten

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

What's up? I'm Quinten! I am originally from Rochester, New York, and have grown up most of my life in Utah. I love the outdoors, especially swimming, and I enjoy playing the guitar! I recently just got married to my high school sweetheart, and am enjoying the life of a newlywed. I am currently attending a local university studying the Ancient Near East.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a mormon? I don't think there is any "one" answer, and my list of reasons just keeps growing. I could have stopped being a member of this church long ago if I would have chosen to, but I never have wanted to, nor do I ever plan to. I love how this church encourages all people to seek their own testimonies by faith, prayer, and study. It promotes and encourages good values and its programs, which I know to be inspired by the Lord, facilitate progression towards Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

One of the greatest things I enjoy is the opportunity to help train Mormon missionaries by teaching them different teaching skills. I work with the senior couples, who have SO much more experience than I do, yet somehow the Holy Ghost helps us all in the classroom to be edified together and learn from each other. My testimony has grown so much as I have seen the faith of these wonderful missionaries, who, rather than enjoying their retirement money on a yacht somewhere, have chosen to live the challenging life of a missionary as they travel the world to spread the good news of Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

It's fulfilling! Yes, there are a lot more commandments in our church then there may be in other religions, but once you know the commandments are from God, they are easier to keep. And when you keep them, you're blessed. That has been my experience. Life will be difficult at times, whether you're a Mormon or not, but the blessings that come from being a Mormon make life a lot more fulfilling. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You've got to pray, and have God tell you that it is true. Sometimes the most difficult part about prayer, whether you're praying about Mormonism or anything really, is recognizing the answer when God gives it to you. There are many examples in the Bible and The Book of Mormon of people receiving answers to their prayers from God in many different forms. The key element in determining if your answer is from God, is that His Holy Spirit will confirm through your thoughts, feelings, and other ways that it is true. Also, if you want an answer from God, you have to make sure that you are doing all that you can to keep His commandments, because it can be hard for His Spirit to testify to you if you are doing things contrary to His will. If you are trying to obey God and are sincere in your prayers, you'll get an answer. It may be in God's own time, and you may not have any idea why or when he answered the way he did, but he will answer. Show more Show less
