Hi I'm Greg

I am married to my best friend in the world and I am the father of six wonderful children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very small town of 350 people in eastern North Carolina. I learned to work hard on our family nursery business growing plants. There was lots of work to be done, but we had fun as a family doing it. I have to admit, I did not always want to be out in the nursery working when my friends were playing, I now look back with much gratitude for the work ethic gained and the lessons learned during my childhood. As a teenager, I had no vision of what was ahead for me. I now work in the four largest city in the US, for one of the top firms in the world, and have traveled to over 15 countries, and have a wonderful family. I have been able to utilize many of the skills I learned as a child in my home and work life. I am very grateful to good parents who love me and have taught me with great patience and mercy.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to be a Mormon most of my life. My parents met some Mormon missionaries who knocked on our door when I was just two years old and after significant study and prayer, decided to be baptized and join the Mormon church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). I grew up learning about the teachings of Christ and the doctrines that it teaches. I have had countless experiences where I am studying a doctrinal point of the gospel and I have has a strong witness of the truth of that given point. When I say a "witness", I mean that I have had a feeling a peace, love, assurance, and comfort that what I am studying is of God and is good for me and something that God world have me follow and implement into my life. I have also had experiences where I have not done what I should have. But again, even through making wrong choices and realizing that I was heading down the wrong path, I have remembered that my Savior Jesus Christ suffered for the sins of all mankind, and I repented and made changes in my life that witnessed to me that the teachings of Jesus Christ are true. Through many experiences, I have gained my own understanding that Christ has restored his original church back on the earth again in preparation for His second coming and to bless the lives of all of God's children on this earth. He loves us and has said, "Come Follow Me". (Luke 18:22)

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to be of service to other both inside and outside of church. I have been able to work with the youth of the church teaching Sunday School classes and also as a Boy Scout leader in various roles. Working with these young people has been one of my most favorite opportunities. It is so rewarding to have a small influence on the future of these great young men and women as they work through the very difficult decisions the society of this world puts before them. I have also had the opportunity to serve in local church leadership. This has taught me so much about the incredible group of people in this church. I have watch them selflessly serve others inside and outside of the church. And they do it again and again without complaint and with a smile on their face. I have also seen members of this church who struggle with and work through difficult challenges and committing themselves to make improvements in their actions and lives. This take lots of hard work, sacrifice, and most of all, faith and trust in their Savior Jesus Christ. When I was a local congregational leader, my most joyous moments were when I was able to see the love of Christ accepted and internalized as people repented of sins and over came difficulties. I witnessed Christ change lives just as He did when He physically walked on this earth. There is no greater joy than to see someone recognize that Christ's sacrifice has very personal application in their life. I know that this applies to each of God's children that have ever been born onto this earth.
