Hi I'm Carl

I grew up on a farm, went to college, served in the military, taught college, and now they call me Dean. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Did you ever go to college? I'm one of those people everybody calls 'Dean'. But, my love for nature, music, church and family surpass my love of school. Or, wait, maybe it's possible to have it all! Yes, I do. It's great to be alive. The world is wonderful!

Why I am a Mormon

Scripture study and prayer are essential to get beyond the understanding available from hope, philosophy, and logic. When hope excites inquiry and inquiry leads to action real progress takes place. For me, the hope was that life had more meaning than an athletic victory or a refreshing concert. Inquiry into the scriptures and a concerted effort to live by the principles they teach led to sincere prayer over an extended period of time. By the whispered answer of the Holy Spirit and a confirming peace and calm, I testify that Jesus Christ is the saviour of the world. All can have peace through Him. He has restored His church in our day to organize efforts to share the message with all people and administer ordinances of salvation.

How I live my faith

The vibrance of youth is fascinating to me. I have enjoyed many years of serving with Boy Scouts, youth sports, and religious retreats for young men. From organizing high adventure camps to chaperoning local youth dances I see a bright future growing. If I didn't take the time to serve, I can't imagine how much I would miss!
