Hi I'm Karen

Faith in Every Footstep

About Me

Well, what to put here? I'm a normal, down to earth person, I dont have two heads or breath fire. I've been a member of the Church for over 21 years and I've been married twice, both times to non members of the Church and whilst with them it was very difficult and I did lose my way a bit and went inactive. Came back into the fold over two years ago and have never been happier. I'm a Mum to four children (although one is nearly 27 and one is 18, so not really children anymore). I am unemployed at the moment after trying to change my life around and being self-employed for 8 years. I enjoy reading, theatre, crown green bowling, songwriting and poetry.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Latter Day Saint because I believe in the eternal principles that the Church have. It is very family orientated and so straight forward.

How I live my faith

I attend church every week and also attend extra meetings and events that may be organised. I am the assistant secretary in what we call 'Relief Society' which is the organisation set up within the Church for the women. I also have a responsibility as a teacher to teach one lesson a month in Relief Society.

What do Mormons believe about family?

One of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ core beliefs is that family relationships can last forever—not just for this life. Just as some of life’s sweetest joys can come through family associations, the loss of a beloved family member can be a source of our deepest sorrows but death does not need to be the end of our relationships with cherished loved ones. The Lord revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith that the “same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there [in eternity], only it will be coupled with eternal glory” Family members who accept the Atonement of Jesus Christ and follow His example can be together forever through sacred ordinances performed in God’s holy temples. Jesus gave to Peter the power to have things sealed on earth and sealed in heaven (Matthew 16:19). This same sealing power was restored to Joseph Smith. Mormon’s believe that they can be “sealed” or bound together through His power enabling them to live together in eternity. Show more Show less
