Hi I'm Lois I love to tap dance

I grew up in Tooele, Utah, married, had six children, and served a mission in Mississippi with my husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I decided to go back to college when I was about 55 years old. My husband and all our children were college graduates or would be soon. I loved it! I was working part-time and only taking a class or two at a time so it took about 7 years. I did much of it by telecourse and correspondence. It meant a lot to me to hang that diploma on my wall!

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to be born into a Mormon family, although my parents were never very active, and neither of my siblings went to church. I usually went to church by myself, which was hard, but I was encouraged to go by my mother. I find happiness and joy by feeling the Spirit in the meetings and working with and serving others. I know God has a plan for his sons and daughters on the earth. I know Jesus Christ is the Son of God and through his great sacrifice for all mankind, we may be with them after this life and we can be together with our families if we keep His commandments.

How I live my faith

I do indexing of government and church records. I try to do a batch a day so that others may find their ancestors. I teach classes on how to do this, and especially enjoy helping young people get interested in indexing and finding their ancestors. I am in a tap dance performing group of seniors. We perform for senior centers, and retirement homes or other venues. People like the upbeat, happy music we use and many tap their toes and clap their hands to the music.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Lois I love to tap dance
Mormon women are like any woman in that they have the same hopes, joys, and sorrows as all women do. They have feelings of charity, love, and caring for others. They love their Savior, Jesus Christ. They are equal partners in marriage and raising children and in all decisions in their homes. Show more Show less
