Hi I'm Don

I grew up in Utah, but live in California now. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married with four children. My oldest two daughters are married and my son is currently serving a mission for the Church so we only have one daughter living at home now. I am a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry. I like to play golf, though I don't take time to go out very often.

Why I am a Mormon

Most of my ancestors have been members of the Church since the 1800's so I was taught the principles from as far back as I can remember. That said, I have felt the spiritual promptings that the Lord wants me to follow the teachings of the Church and I have found that I am happier when I do so. I believe that God is our lovingly Heavenly Father and that he has a purpose for us in this life if we will seek it. I also believe that Jesus Christ is His son and that He sacrificed his life for us.

How I live my faith

I help the leadership in a Spanish congregation that meets not far from our home. As such, I have the opportunity to attend Sunday services with that congregation and get to know people from different cultures (e,g, Mexican, Guatemalan, Peruvian, Chilean, etc.) than my own. They are the most loving and faithful people I've ever met. Most have considerably less wealth than I, but they are happy. Many have only been members of the Church for a short time, but they are faithful and excited about living the Gospel. I am honored to be associated with these great people.
