Hi I'm David

I grew up in Georgia. I'm the youngest of 5 children. I currently live in Colorado with my wife and 2 sons.

About Me

I currently live in Colorado. I am studying Marriage and Family Therapy. I am married and have 2 sons. I grew up in Georgia, but moved to Colorado when I was 16. I served an LDS mission in Argentina when I was 19, and then went to school in Idaho. My wife currently stays at home with our sons and works part-time at our apartment complex. She also enjoys working on crafts and teaching Zumba. We spend a lot of our time together as a family biking, boating, going to parks, and visiting downtown.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents joined the church when they were teenagers. They taught me and my 4 siblings the gospel since we were very young. While growing up, I knew the church was true, but still made plenty of mistakes while attending high school especially when I moved to Colorado. At around age 18 I relized I needed to make a change in my life and decided to serve a mission for my church. I was called to serve in the Neuquen, Argentina mission. My mission really pushed me to my limits. I knew I had a lot to learn! I had to learn Spanish and learn the scriptures. At that time I also did a lot of soul searching to really solidify my testimony. Time after time on my mission I had spiritual experiences that helped me to know that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and of that His church has been restored on this earth again. As I studied the gospel, prayed earnestly to know the truth, and strived to keep God's commandments, my testimony grew and I began to know without a doubt that what I was teaching was true. I came home from my mission with a desire to be married in the temple for time and all eternity. I got married and started my family. Since starting my family my faith has been tried time and time again. I know now, more than ever, that God is our Heavenly Father and that He loves us, that Jesus Christ died for me and that He lives that I might live as well. I am Mormon now, not just because my family taught me this religion, but because I have exercised faith in my Lord, Jesus Christ, and as I have done so I have been so blessed and happy. I have never felt so much peace in my life as I do right now as I strive to live the gospel that Jesus taught.

How I live my faith

I live the gospel by striving to serve those around me. It first starts with my family. I try to spend quality time with my family, and to show my wife and children just how special they are to me. I try to put my family above education and work. I also live my faith by helping families through therapy. I strive to study the scriptures and pray daily individually and as a family. I try to attend the temple regularly which is another chance to serve others. I know I'm not perfect, but I am so grateful for a loving Savior who helps me help myself when I do make mistakes.
