Hi I'm Tammy

I grew up in Utah and Idaho. Currently, I am a full time student and working as pharmacy extern. Life is good with the Lord!

About Me

I have graduated from high school and college. I will begoing back to school this year to become a pharmacist. I like to scrapbook, play the piano, and read. Also I enjoy watching disney movies and playing games. Last year brought many changes for me, a few that I would like to share. I became divorced after 4 1/2 years of marriage and came to rely better on my Heavenly Father. Because of my experiences I know the church is true and I love my Savior for all He has done and will ever do for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are members and I was baptized at 8 years of age. But it wasn't until I was in high school that I realized what I really having being in this church. Through friends who encouraged me and through reading the scriptures I came to know it is true. I served a mission in Virginia to share with everyone the truth that I know. Throughout my life I have gained a little knowledge at a time and know for myself through praying that this is the Lord's church. I would be lost without it! He is my rock and the One that I want by my side through everything in my life.

How I live my faith

I attend a ward (an area of the city that has been assigned to attend one building) each sunday. Currently at this time I spend the second part of the meetings with the children. I play the piano so that they can sing songs and learn for themselves that the gospel is true. I listen in sacrament meeting to those who speak to us about different aspects of the gospel. Each sunday I have the chance to talk with others and serve them by being there. The rest of the week while I am at work or home I try to live my life showing that I have faith in being clean. I don't smoke, drink, swear, or particiate in places where the Spirit is not present. I try to live the way that I have been taught so that I can have His Spirit to be with me.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

My parents taught me the importance of wearing modest clothing and speaking nicely. They showed me the way to be chaste in a world that doesn't seem to believe in it as much anymore. I have seen how men will look at women who wear clothing that is revealing of their breasts or other body parts and they lust after them. I don't want to be a part of that so I dress in a way that will help men to keep their thoughts clean. Chasitity is so important and being modest is a part of it. We believe that we are not to have sexual intimacy with anyone other than the man or woman that we are married to leagally. Parents can teach by example and by using the word of God! What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that the family is eternal, not just for this life on earth. I am recently divorced and was talking with one of my co-workers who was impressed that I still want to be married. My greatest desire is to have a husband who loves the Lord and children that we can teach and help them grow to know the Lord. Being married in the temple allows us to be a family for all of eternity as long as we live according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is our elder brother and God is our Father. Show more Show less
