Hi I'm Denise

I grew up in California but have lived on the East Coast for over a decade. I love to travel and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of five kids. I live in New York, but was born and raised in California. Among many interests, I like to travel and read -- I'm a believer in getting as much education as possible. I really enjoy spending time with my family. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and have seen it change lives. I lived as a missionary in Osaka, Japan. I still speak Japanese as often as I can and endeavor to take my kids every opportunity we get to travel so that they will have the opportunity to learn about all the interesting people who live on this wonderful planet.

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon opens my eyes to the reality that everyone I meet is my brother or sister. This belief fills my life with love. I've always been in search of truth so for me, being a Mormon just makes sense. The Church of Jesus Christ answered all my questions. There were no gaps or areas that were "gray" or had to be glossed over. My life is full of joy and happiness and although I have had difficulties along the way just like everyone else, things just seem easier with the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ illuminating my path.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by truly "owning" it! I do not deny my faith to anyone. I attend church meetings regularly and participate in my local congregation by helping to teach when asked and by volunteering to help others in the community both in and out of my faith whenever I see a need. I am proud to tell people that I'm a Mormon -- a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I often ask myself, "What would Jesus do?" and I try to live in accordance with that ideal.
