Hi I'm Donna

I love gourmet cupcakes and country music. I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, and business owner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and spent most of my life in southern California. My parents were very good people who raised my brother and I well with good values. I spent a lot of time at the beach when I was young but I have traded the ocean for the mountains of Colorado. I have two daughters and two sons who have grown up to be great people. I have two grandsons that are as cute as can be. We love doing things together like cooking, hiking, working out, playing games or watching movies. I'm interested in health and nutrition but if a special dessert is needed for any occasion, I'm your gal. My husband and I love to be together all the time and feel fortunate that we even get to work together. I'll go to the hardware store with him and he'll go to the makeup counter with me. We've been business owners for over 34 years and love spending so much time with each other.

Why I am a Mormon

I always had a relationship with my Heavenly Father and knew He was there. My family didn't go to any specific church but we went to various churches sometimes and most of my friends were Catholic. My father was raised Catholic but seldom went to church. I knew from the time I was very young that there was a church for me out there somewhere. I met my "now" husband at work when I was 19. We started dating and I couldn't believe how much we were alike. When I found out he was a Mormon, I had a million questions. He asked me if I wanted to have the missionaries come by and I said sure. I got all my questions answered and loved that "feeling" I got as we studied together. The Book of Mormon was so clear and easy to understand and I found the Bible easier to understand now too where before it seemed confusing. I couldn't get enough of this wonderful gospel! I felt like I was home and was baptized shortly thereafter. We got married in the Los Angeles Temple a year later. Both of our boys served as missionaries, Brisbane Australia and Winnipeg Canada and our youngest daughter is currently serving in the Boston Massachusetts Mission -Spanish speaking! What a blessing to bring others this gospel! I know this is the true church restored in its entirety by Joseph Smith. Jesus Christ stands at the head and we are led by a prophet- Thomas Monson who serves as His mouthpiece and follows His direction. The Atonement is real and is for everyone. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and know it is the best way to live our lives until we can go home as families and live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ forever.

How I live my faith

I try to be kind and be a good example for Christ to anyone and everyone I meet and know. I am involved with community and neighbors and share my values and beliefs with others. I visit teach a few sisters in my church and we'll go to lunch, to the temple, or just spend time talking together. Lots of time talking- just ask my husband! I also work in our church library helping people make copies, find pictures, or get together other items they need for teaching lessons etc. I love helping others and find joy in serving any way I can. I especially love going to the temple!
